Cost of extended auto warranty

Extended auto warranty costs vary a lot and they largely depend on the type of car you have and on several other factors, such as the general reliability of the car and how many service entries you had in the last period. A very good idea is to start getting as many extended auto warranty quotes for you and your car and see what offers you get.
There are a couple of things that you should look out for, such as avoiding the very cheapest extended auto warranty offers because they probably only cover minor damage and repairs, so you will still have to take money out of your pocket for larger repairs that your car might need.
The best deal is to get something in between, not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either, unless you have a very expensive car. Choose from the list of quotes you have, but don’t look after the money only.
I can’t really tell you what an exact amount would be, but just to give you an idea, for a 2001 Toyota Prius the extended warranty is generally between 800 and 1200 per year. I am sue that you can find lower and higher quotes than that, but basically, for that specific car those are the amounts you should be aiming for. Of course, if the car is modified in any way the quote goes up significantly. Also, the older the car, the higher the price. It is the same with high mileage cars. It is probably very obvious, if you have a brand new car that is known for being extremely reliable, the extended auto warranty cost will be lower.
In any case, make sure that you study the market and make a decision based on the money but on the benefits of the offer as well.
